Qualifications: BCom (Econometrics) (Hons) (cum laude) (University of Johannesburg), MPhil (Economics) (Cantab) AMP (Harvard, USA).
Anél started her career at Nedbank as a trader and was the Head of Risk for Nedbank Capital from 2005 to 2010. After a short period as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy for Nedbank Capital, she was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the cluster in 2011. In 2015 Anél was appointed Managing Executive of Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking Markets, responsible for all trading activities in Nedbank and wholesale funding, and later Group Managing Executive of Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking. She joined the Group Executive Committee on 1 April 2020.
